WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Concepts
In your Kenzie Academy program, you’ll learn how to code in multiple languages, solve problems analytically, and work collaboratively with a team in a professional environment. Since nearly every industry relies on web technologies, your experience in building web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will prepare you for the new economy.
You'll start with an introduction to the web, the command-line, and version control. From there, you'll learn basic to advanced JavaScript concepts.
HTML & CSS: The basics, advanced concepts, and responsive web content.
The Command-Line and Version Control: Introduction to the terminal, manipulating files and folders, and version control with a focus on Git.
JavaScript Basic Concepts: Introduction to programming, variables, strings, and primitive data types.
JavaScript Basic Concepts: Introduction to expressions and statements, as well as the DOM.
JavaScript Intermediate Concepts: Loops, functions, and arrays.
JavaScript Advanced Concepts: Callback functions, objects, the Prototype System, and the Class System.
JavaScript Advanced Concepts: Introduction to Single Page Applications and the basics (and beyond) of React.
Back-End: From the Perspective of the Front-End
Start off by learning the client and server relationship. Following the introduction to APIs, you'll learn about HTTP communication and your browser's dev tools.
Capstone Project: A Simple Social Media Application
Your final project will be presented at the end of the Web Developer program.

Career Choice is an innovative Amazon program uniquely designed to upskill employees who are interested in pursuing advancement within Amazon or a future outside of it. Through its Web Developer program, Kenzie Academy from SNHU will provide the needed tools to empower you to land a job in a tech-adjacent position where you’ll gain experience in understanding your company and its product, learn its code base, and utilize your soft skills to show your potential and eagerness to learn and advance. In addition to landing jobs as an Associate or Junior Web Developer, alumni have also moved on to work as Quality Assurance Engineers, Cloud Systems Engineers, Desktop Tech Support, Software Engineers, Junior Front-End Engineers, Data Analysts, Tech Support Associates and more.
Amazon will cover 100% of your tuition for full-time employees as long as you have $5,250 available in Career Choice tuition assistance, so you’ll owe $0 in out-of-pocket tuition expenses. If you’re a part-time Amazon employee, you’ll receive $2,625 in your annual budget to use towards the Kenzie Academy Web Developer program..
